FCC Actions
Beasley Media Group has entered into a Consent Decree with the FCC over the filing of transfer applications from one holding company to another after the fact. In January, Beasley applied to transfer stations held by WDAS License Limited Partnership, WKIS License Limited Partnership, WPOW License Limited Partnership, WQAM License Limited Partnership, and WXTU License Limited Partnership to Beasley Media Group Licenses, LLC and the transfer of control of that LLC from Beasley Media Group Inc. to Beasley Media Group LLC.
Beasley sought to have the transfers granted “nunc pro tunc” or after the fact of their closing on December 31. The FCC has ruled that the applications would not be granted nunc pro tunc and settled with Beasley on a $15,000 civil penalty and the adoption a three year compliance plan to prevent it from happening again.
