After purchasing Full Service 1530 KDSN and 107.1 KDSN-FM Denison IA from Mikadety Radio Corporation for $1.25 million in April in order to facilitate a move to 104.9 for KDSN-FM and upgrade of their 107.1 KNWI Osceola IA into the Des Moines market, University of Northwestern-St. Paul’s UNW Media Holdings quickly divests the stations to JC Van Ginkel, James Field, AND Rodney Christensen’s Crawford County Broadcasting for $1.15 million. A Time Brokerage Agreement to operate the station began on September 1.
Greg Bojko’s GSB Media keeps expanding on the Eastern Shore of Maryland and Virginia with the purchase of “Bay Country 97.9” WBEY-FM Crisfield MD from Bay Broadcasting for $237,500. GSB owns Classic Country “Wow 101.1” WICO-FM Snow Hill MD and LMA’s its simulcaster 99.3 WOWZ-FM Accomac VA plus Variety Hits 96.5 WCTG West Pocomoke MD and Rhythmic AC “101.5 The Mix” WVES Chincoteague VA.
Just south of Roanoke, WNLB Radio Inc. sells Country “Super Country B99.9” WZBB Stanleytown VA to Eric & Julie Turner’s Turner Media Group for $325,000.
