John Pirkle’s Oak Ridge FM has sold Alternative “94Z” 94.3 WNFZ Powell/Knoxville TN to Midwest Communications, which has flipped the station to Variety Hits “94.3 Jack-FM” under an immediate LMA.
Terms were not disclosed with Michael Bergner serving as broker.
WNFZ become the fourth station in their Knoxville cluster alongside Classic Country “95.7 Duke-FM” WDKW Maryville, AC “B97.5” WJXB-FM Knoxville, and Classic Rock 103.5 WIMZ-FM Knoxville. Randy Chambers, Program Director of WDKW and WIMZ will add those duties for WNFZ as well.
The Jack-FM brand was previously utilized in the market on what is now WDKW from 2005-2012 under former owner South Central Communications.
