SportsNight With George Plaster Moving To WSM Afternoons

650 WSM Nashville George PlasterLongtime Nashville sports talk host George Plaster is returning to his familiar afternoon drive slot as he take over afternoons on Grand Ole Opry’s 650 WSM Nashville starting this summer.

Plaster had been hosting a weekly Sunday evening show on WSM since July 2017 while serving as Associate Athletic Director at Belmont University. He has hosted Sports talk shows in Nashville since 1989 when he joined 99.7 WWTN. He then hosted afternoons on “104.5 The Zone” WGFX from 2003-2011 and “102.5 The Game” WPRT-FM from 2012-2016.

The Tennessean reports that Plaster is exiting Belmont to launch the new daily show on WSM, which will launch in late July or early August. No word on the status of “Nashville Today” hosted Devon O’Day, which currently airs in the 3-6pm timeslot.

    They may get that all-sports format on 650 yet.

    Of course, they now might also want to pull that Vince Gill history of country music anytime day or night quote from the website.

      As sports-crazy as Nashville’s gotten, this is likely a compromise. I saw this in New York when WOR briefly carried the Mets. Now that they’ve left for Entercom, things have gotten back to the usual rightie talk.
