JVC Media is expanding in Orlando FL with the purchase of 660 WORL Altamonte Springs/105.5 W288CJ Oviedo from Salem Media for $900,000.
JVC will begin to operate 660/105.5 via LMA no later than August 19. However not included in the deal will be the current format or any of its intellectual property as that will remain with Salem. Also remaining with Salem are the WORL call letters, which will be exchanged with Spanish Christian “La Nueva 990” WDYZ Orlando prior to the closing of the sale. JVC will also file a facilities modification application for W288CJ.
The deal gives JVC a second station in Orlando alongside Country “103.1 The Wolf” WOTW Windermere. The company also operates 94.1 W231CT Orlando as Rock “Bud 94.1“, but that translator was recently sold by Circuitwerkes to iHeartMedia for $500,000.
Upon completion of the sale, Salem will retain Christian Preaching “94.9 The Word” 950 WTLN/94.9 W235CR Orlando, Spanish Christian “La Nueva 990” WDYZ/101.5 W268CT Orlando, and Talk 1520 WBZW Apopka.
