Following Entercom’s introduction of “Radio.com Sports” earlier this year, iHeartMedia is following suit with “iHeartRadio Sports“.
At launch, the portal features streaming links to Fox Sports Radio and iHeartMedia’s 570 KLAC Los Angeles, “100.3 KFAN” KFXN Minneapolis, and “The Gambler” 1480 WDAS Philadelphia and podcasts including The Herd with Colin Cowherd, Sports Wars, 3 and Out with John MiddleKauff, and Outkick the Coverage with Clay Travis.
iHeartMedia, the leading audio company in America which also has a greater reach in the U.S. than any other media outlet and the No. 1 podcast publisher globally according to Podtrac, today announced the launch of “iHeartRadio Sports,” a new website that lets listeners find the leading broadcast Sports radio stations, top Sports podcasts and latest Sports news in one place.
Through “iHeartRadio Sports,” sports fans can choose from more than 195 live broadcast and digital stations including FOX Sports Radio; AM 570 LA Sports, Home of Dodgers Radio & Los Angeles Sports; FOX Sports The Gambler in Philadelphia; KFAN FM 100.3 – Minneapolis/St. Paul – The Sports Leader; and others. In addition, they can listen to episodes from more than 25,000 sports podcasts including The Herd with Colin Cowherd, 3 and Out with John MiddleKauff, Outkick the Coverage with Clay Travis, Sports Wars and more.
“iHeartRadio has long been a destination for the biggest sports fans and now provides the premier destination where they can find all their favorite teams, podcasts, personalities and stations all in one place,” said Darren Davis, President of iHeartRadio and iHeartMedia Networks Group. “Sports listeners are incredibly passionate and this new destination utilizes the power and reach of iHeartMedia and its programming to create an encompassing all-things-sports experience like no other, for those enthusiastic fanatics everywhere whether it’s getting outstanding play-by-play of the latest Dodgers game to sports betting podcasts for expert picks and analysis.”
FOX Sports Radio, a division of Premiere Networks in partnership with FOX Sports, reaches more than 15 million monthly listeners on more than 500 affiliates. It has the biggest hosts in sports and entertainment, including Colin Cowherd, Dan Patrick, Clay Travis, Doug Gottlieb, Rich Eisen, Chris Broussard, Rob Parker and R.J. Bell. In August, FOX Sports Radio’s podcasts reached 10.3 million total monthly listens, marking back-to-back months that the network has surpassed the 10 million milestone.
The iHeartRadio digital streaming service features 196 broadcast and digital Sports radio stations across the U.S. and more than 25,000 Sports podcasts. In addition, iHeartMedia’s radio brands feature top local Sports on-air talent and programming including insider access, interviews, live reports and play-by-play broadcast agreements with top teams in major sports on both the professional and college level, including the Dodgers, Clippers, Kings, Chargers and UCLA in Los Angeles; the Vikings, Wild and Gofers in Minnesota; the Reds, Bengals and University of Cincinnati Football and Basketball in Cincinnati; the Broncos, Rockies and University of Colorado Football in Colorado; the Indians and Cavaliers in Cleveland; the Miami Marlins and Florida Gators in Florida; and more. In June, the company launched iHeartRadio Sports Daily – a newsletter featuring top sports stories and videos that are sent out daily to sports fans.
I’m surprised that more iHeart-owned local Sports stations (e.g., KJR, KGME, WDAE, and WRNW) aren’t highlighted on that main page.
