Day 3 of Nielsen Audio’s September 2019 PPM releases are now available for Portland, Charlotte, San Antonio, Sacramento, Pittsburgh, Salt Lake City, Las Vegas, Orlando, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Kansas City, and Columbus.

Noteworthy numbers in today’s markets include:
- The start of the NFL season usually helps Sports talkers this time of the year, but it also helps music stations that serve as local flagships for them. Cumulus Media Classic Rock “101 The Fox” Kansas City didn’t need the extra help from Patrick Mahomes, but with the start of the Chiefs season the station rises from a 9.3 to 10.3 to increase its market lead to over two share points. Cumulus Classic Hits 94.9 KCMO-FM holds in second but drops 8.6 to 8.2.
- Its a Country flip-flop in Portland as Entercom’s “99.5 The Wolf” KWJJ surges from 3.7 to 5.0, while Alpha Media’s “98.7 The Bull” KUPL falls 4.1 to 2.9.
- Last month saw three stations at the top of the Charlotte market separated by two tenths of a share. This month the margin spreads to over a share and a half as iHeartMedia Classic Rock “99.7 The Fox” WRFX rises from 6.7 to 7.5 to move from third to first. Beasley Country 103.7 WSOC holds in second but drops from 6.8 to 6.1, while Beasley R&B “V101.9” WBAV falls from first to a third-place tie with iHeartMedia Variety Hits “102.9 The Lake” WLKO. WBAV falls 6.9 to 5.9, while WLKO rises 5.7 to 5.9.
- The Pop and Rhythmic market in San Antonio was turned on its head this month. Cox Hot AC “Magic 105.3” KSMG rises 4.3 to 5.1. Alpha CHR “Energy 94.1” KTFM jumps 3.3 to 4.2. Univision Rhythmic “98.5 The Beat” KBBT rises 4.0 to 4.2. iHeartMedia CHR “Now 96.1” KXXM falls 3.7 to 3.3.
- iHeartMedia Country 92.3 WCOL Columbus continues its market dominance with an 11.5 share well ahead of their CHR 97.9 WNCI and Saga AC “Sunny 94.7” WSNY tied at 6.9.
- Entercom Classic Hits “105.9 Sunny-FM” WOCL Orlando drops 11.0 to 9.5 but continues to hold a big lead over iHeartMedia Spanish CHR “Rumba 100.3” WRUM’s 7.1.
- iHeartMedia CHR “XL 106.7” WXXL Orlando dropped over a share and a half from 8.3 to 6.7, while sister AC “Magic 107.7” WMGF surged 4.9 to 6.5.
- A change atop the Cleveland market as iHeartMedia Classic Hits “Majic 105.7” WMJI rises 8.2 to 9.0. Radio One R&B 93.1 WZAK jumps to second 7.6 to 8.2. The former co-market leaders hold third and fourth as iHeartMedia Country 99.5 WGAR drops 8.3 to 8.0 and Entercom Classic Rock 98.5 WNCX falls 8.3 to 7.4.
- There’s a new market leader in Salt Lake City as iHeartMedia Classic Hits 94.1 KODJ rises 6.7 to 7.1 and Bonneville Classic Rock “103.5 The Arrow” KRSP falls 7.2 to 6.3.
- After three straight months of record lows, Bonneville News/Talk 860 KSL/102.7 KSL-FM Salt Lake City stops the bleeding with a 3.4 to 4.0 gain.
