Gunner Jackson & Cheyenne Davis Make The Leap From Yakima to KMLE Phoenix

Gunner Jackson & Cheyenne Davis will join KMLE from Townsquare Media Country “92.9 The Bull” KDBL Yakima WA. Jackson was in his second term at KDBL, also serving as Brand Manager after previously co-hosting mornings from 2011-2013. He has also served as morning show producer for “Kiss 106.1” KBKS Seattle, PD/Morning Host at Country “Kissin 97.7” KYSN Wenatchee WA and “Kick 104” KIQK Rapid City SD, and on-air at CHR “Power 99.1” KUJ-FM Kennewick WA. Davis began her radio career in 2018 after Jackson discovered her working in a local gym.

“Gunner & Cheyenne” take the morning slot that had been held by Maria Knight and Chad Mitchell until their exit in October.

Entercom, a leading media and entertainment company and one of the two largest radio broadcasters in the U.S., today announced Gunner Jackson and Cheyenne Davis as hosts of “Gunner & Cheyenne,” the new morning show on KMLE Country 107.9 (KMLE-FM), the Valley’s country leader, in Phoenix. The show will air weekdays from 5:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. MT, beginning Wednesday, December 18.

“We are excited to introduce our audience to Gunner and Cheyenne,” said Dave Pugh, Senior Vice President and Market Manager, Entercom Phoenix. “Together, they will bring a ton of energy and positivity to the show and are the perfect hosts to help our listeners begin their mornings.”

“I’m grateful to both Dave Pugh and Tim Richards [Program Director, Entercom Phoenix] for such an incredible opportunity,” said Jackson. “The team at KMLE is world-class and I am beyond excited to join such an awesome station. I’m ecstatic to be a part of the future of KMLE and ready to hit the ground running.”

“I am appreciative of this opportunity that Dave Pugh and Tim Richards have given me and can’t wait to get to work,” said Davis. “Joining the KMLE team is extremely exciting and I look forward to bringing great content and laughs to the Valley.”

Jackson joins Entercom from KDBL-FM in Yakima, WA, where he served as morning show host as well as brand manager. He previously worked as an executive producer at KBKS-FM in Seattle, morning show host and program director for KYSN-FM in Wenatchee, WA and KIQK-FM in Rapid City, SD, and as an on-air host for KUJ-FM in Tri-Cities, WA.

Davis began her radio career in 2018 at KDBL-FM in Yakima, WA as co-host of the morning show alongside Jackson. He invited her to audition for the role after noticing her infectious personality at the local gym where she worked. Davis is active in the Yakima, WA community and has spearheaded multiple charitable initiatives including a clothing drive for an elementary school and a softball tournament for Children’s Village.

Jackson and Davis were recently honored with a 2019 Yakima Herald-Republic Readers’ Choice Award for Best Radio Personality.

Listeners can tune in to KMLE Country 107.9 (KMLE-FM) in Phoenix on air, as well as nationwide on the RADIO.COM app and website. Fans can also connect with the station on social media via Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
