It wasn’t Adult Alternative as teased, but VCMG Live did launch “The Surf” 960 WSVU North Palm Beach/92.5 W233CJ West Palm Beach/101.7 W269DS North Palm Beach FL on Christmas morning.
Positioning as “The Palm Beaches Finest Rock”, the new station is featuring a broad Classic Rock mix. The only Rock station of any kind in the West Palm Beach market was iHeartMedia’s “Gater 98.7” WKGR Wellington. That station ranked seventh in the market with a 3.1 share in the November 2019 Nielsen Audio ratings.

Leaking their new branding on their iHeartRadio page, the new format will be positioned as “The Palm Beaches Finest Rock”. A Facebook post from August teases the format as featuring Rock from the 90s through now with core artists listed as including Coldplay, Foo Fighters, Imagine Dragons, Killers, Mumford & Sons, Pearl Jam, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Strokes, Third Eye Blind, Twenty One Pilots and Weezer.
