Now his brother Van's Backyard Broadcasting PA looks to be resurrecting the brand. WHTO would eventually move to a stronger signal on 93.3 and then flip to Oldies as WBZD-FM in 1999. Through a series of sales it and a cluster of five other stations would be rolled into Sabrecom and then multiple companies using the Backyard Broadcasting name until purchased by Van Michael last summer for $5.9 million. In the first major move since taking over, it looks as though the "Hot" brand will be resurrected. Variety Hits "FM 107.9" WLMY Williamsport changed call letters to WOTH earlier this week (the WHTO calls have long been claimed in the UP of Michigan) and the company registered Hot1079Radio.com. A resurrected CHR brand would take the station into direct competition with iHeartMedia's "V97" 97.7 WVRT.
Homeslice Media Group has registered TheCowboyRadio.com for its cluster in Rapid City SD. The currently visible site shows most of the content from Country "Kat 98.7" KOUT and a logo indicating the signals of 920 KKLS/104.7 K284BT Rapid City that currently feature News/Talk programming.
Anonymous Registration: 1073HankFM.com [/membership]
