iHeartMedia News/Talk 850 KOA Denver/94.1 K231AA Boulder/94.1 K231BQ Golden CO has announced it as come to an agreement with Learfield IMG’s Buffalo Sports Properties to keep the University of Colorado football and basketball on the station for three more years.
KOA has carried University of Colorado Sports for all but three seasons since 1970 and has served as flagship for their football and men’s basketball broadcasts since 1973. iHeartMedia Talk 630 KHOW will continue to carry women’s basketball games and any games displaced from KOA due to conflicts with MLB’s Colorado Rockies or NFL’s Denver Broncos. In recent years 760 KDSP had carried overflow broadcasts.
iHeartMedia Denver’s KOA NewsRadio 850 AM & 94.1 FM, the Voice of Colorado, announced today that it will extend its broadcast agreement with The University of Colorado Athletics Department and its exclusive multimedia rightsholder, Buffalo Sports Properties, for a 77th season.
As part of the agreement, fans will continue to find Buffs programming and game action on KOA NewsRadio. KOA NewsRadio will bring fans comprehensive coverage for all Buffs sports including football as well as men’s and women’s game broadcasts. Full promotional support will also be provided on KOA NewsRadio’s sister stations including 103.5 FM The Fox, KBPI FM 107.9 and KBCO FM 97.3. The new three-year broadcast agreement will begin with the upcoming 2020-21 collegiate athletics season. Additionally, Mark Johnson will return this fall as the “Voice of the Buffs” for his 17th season of play-by-play reporting for Buffs football and men’s basketball. Fans can also hear original Buffs content on demand on the “CU Buffs Insider Podcast,” which can be found on www.cubuffs.com
In the new term, Buffs football and men’s basketball broadcasts will continue to be heard on KOA NewsRadio 850 AM & 94.1 FM and Buffs women’s basketball play-by-play will continue to be heard on Talk Radio 630 KHOW AM. Seasonal weekly coach shows will be aired on KOA NewsRadio 850 AM & 94.1 FM and will feature Karl Dorrell, Football Head Coach; Tad Boyle, Men’s Basketball Head Coach; and JR Payne, Women’s Basketball Head Coach.
