As part of a minor channel refresh taking place today, SiriusXM has moved iHeartMedia CHR “Z100” WHTZ New York to its streaming only package and has made Dave Matthews Radio a permanent fixture on the lineup.
Z100 was one of the two remaining iHeartMedia programmed stations on the satellite lineup remaining from XM’s 2001 deal with the company. A 2013 deal shrunk the arrangement to carrying just Z100 and 102.7 KIIS-FM Los Angeles on the service, but expanded coverage to remaining Sirius receivers. KIIS-FM remains on SiriusXM channel 11, while Z100 moves to the company’s streaming packages on channel 769.
Pop Alternative “Pop Rocks” has moved from channel 17 to 12 replacing Z100, while making room for Soft Oldies “The Bridge” to be reclassified from the Rock channels to Pop and move from 32 to 17.
Moving onto channel 32 are the limited run channels that were previously featured on channel 30. Right now the channel is running a top 500 songs of the 1980s countdown.
The final change sees the company make “Dave Matthews Band Radio” a permanent fixture on channel 30. Dave Matthews Band Radio was previously part of SiriusXM’s rotation of single artist limited run channels.
SiriusXM announced today that Dave Matthews Band Radio will return to channel 30, beginning Thursday June 18. Often brought back on a seasonal basis, the channel will now be available all year round on SiriusXM.
The beloved and much-revered channel, devoted to Dave Matthews Band’s extensive musical career, has been a favorite of SiriusXM listeners in recent years. The channel will continue to feature the band’s indelible hits, exclusive, never-before-heard interview content, unreleased concerts, solo material, live songs, and musical influences. The channel will also feature additional, brand new specials, including guest DJ sets from band members, and an exclusive live ‘at-home’ acoustic performance from Dave, featuring a set of songs requested by SiriusXM listeners.
