Beasley Media has announced the appointment of John Larson as Program Director of Rock “96 K-Rock” 96.1 WRXK Bonita Springs and Soft AC “Sunny 106.3” WJPT Fort Myers FL. He will also host mornings at WJPT.
Larson most recently served as Director of Branding and Programming for Cox Media Group’s WDUV, WWRM, and WXGL Tampa for fifteen years until exiting in February 2019. Larson was also the corporate Classic Hits format leader for Cox until his exit and also previously programmed KDGE and KZPS Dallas as well as stations in Detroit, Phoenix, Washington DC, Chicago and St. Louis.
Larson succeeds Matt Mangas as Program Director of the two stations and Ralphie Marino in mornings at WJPT. Both exited last week.
Beasley Media Group announces John Larson has been named as the new Program Director of WRXK-FM & WJPT-FM and Morning Drive Host from 6 a.m. – 10 a.m. on WJPT in Ft. Myers. He officially began his new programming position on Tuesday, September 1, 2020 and will kick-off his new on-air role on the 8th.
Larson most recently spent the past 15 years serving as the Director of Branding and Programming at WWRM-FM, WXGL-FM and WDUV-FM as well as working as the former Format Leader for Classic Rock/Hits for Cox Media Group. Previously, he spent 15 years programming KDGE-FM and KZPS-FM in Dallas.
