Dave Coombs is exiting mornings at Townsquare Media AC “Lite 98.7” WLZW Utica NY to join Saga Communications Rock “Lazer 99.3/98.5” WLZX-FM Northampton and 1600 WLZX/98.5 W253CD East Longmeadown MA.
Coombs is best known for his 20 year stint in mornings at Galaxy Communications Classic Rock “TK99” WTKW Syracuse from 1995 through 2015. He also hosted mornings at WAQX Syracuse, WCMF Rochester and WUTQ Utica before he and his wife Beth Coombs joined WLZW in 2017.
Beth will remain at WLZW with current Country “Big Frog 104.3” WFRG-FM afternoon host Dave Wheeler joining as her new co-host. Wheeler will also continue to host afternoons at WFRG-FM.
In Springfield, Coombs fills the morning slot that was vacated by Pat Kelly’s move to afternoons at sister Classic Rock “Rock 102” WAQY.
