SDK Franco has launched All-Selena “Selena 105.3” on 105.3 K287BQ Houston.
The Houston Chronicle reports the station is running commercial-free with bilingual sweepers and includes brief interviews with those close to Selena.
We are unaware right now what station if any is originating programming for the translator. The translator was most recently licensed to rebroadcast an HD subchannel of iHeartMedia’s 94.5 KTBZ-FM Houston, but right now its only HD subchannels are simulcasts of their owned AM properties. SDK Franco is also in the process of acquiring 105.3 KTWL Todd Mission TX from Roy Henderson for $2 million.
Sounds like a stunt to me.
Is it possible that they could just be doing this until the new year and launch their permanent format right after new year?
Not a lot of songs there to play. Depending on the source it’s 5 or 6 studio albums and three live albums. Selena Y Los Dinos albums bump up the total, but it would seem to only be about 75 studio tracks.
No iriginating station has been connected to 105.3, for at least 6 months, I’ve heard.
