While it will be many months before the frequency resumes broadcasting in the market, iHeartMedia has registered seven domains for potential brands to utilize on the station. The domains are:

1079KFBK.com pointing to a move of News/Talk "News 93.1" 1530 KFBK Sacramento and 93.1 KFBK-FM Pollock Pines from the Class B1 rimshot to the 107.9 signal. KFBK is currently third in the market with an 8.5 share

1079TheGame.com hints at bringing a third Sports talker to the market, albeit the first on FM to compete against Bonneville's 1140 KHTK and Audacy's "ESPN Radio 1320" KIFM. Those two stations combine for a 0.9 share.

80s1079.com could potentially fill a hole in the market as the only Classic Hits station is Results Radio's rimshot "101.5 K-Hits" KCCL, although would also create demographic overlap with two of iHeart's existing stations in the market: Soft AC "92.5 The Breeze" KBEB and Classic Rock "93.7 The River" KYRV.

Cali1079.com is broad in its potential uses. Meruelo Media uses the "Cali" name for Spanish Rhythmic in Los Angeles, but in California's state capital could also potentially be used for anything from Classic Hits to CHR to Talk.

Hits1079.com and Kiss1079.com tease a return to CHR for the former home of "107.9 The End" prior to Entercom surrendering the 107.9 license ahead of its merger with CBS Radio in 2017 rather than risk a license renewal hearing. "The End" brand moved to 106.5 KUDL, where it remains and currently has a 2.6 share of the market.

Talk1079.com would be for the signal to simulcast Conservative Talk "Talk 650" KSTE, which currently ranks 12th in the market with a 3.0 share.

Despite all these registrations, if I were a betting man, I'd still place the biggest odds on one that iHeartMedia already has in use: TheBullSacramento.com. "The Bull" brand moved from 92.5 KBEB to rimshot translator 107.1 K296GB North Highlands in November 2018. At the time it was one of three full-powered Country signals in the market, but since the summer of 2019, Bonneville's 105.1 KNCI has had that position to itself. KNCI currently ranks fourth in the market with a 6.4 share but the three stations ahead of it are iHeart owned or already have formats with direct competition from iHeart in Bonneville AC "Mix 96" KYMX and Audacy Classic Rock "96.9 The Eagle" KSEG. That makes KNCI ripest for attack. [/membership]
