With the impending transfer of the former Sports “104.9 The Horn” KTXX-FM Bee Cave/Austin to a yet unknown operator on Tuesday, August 1, it is now known that Genuine Austin Radio’s Classic Hits “105.3 The Bat” K287FG Austin/KTXX-HD4 will also be transferred and debut a new format.
The station wrote, “It is with great sadness we announce 105.3 The Bat, Capital of Classic Hits Austin will go dark Monday, July 31st at 7pm CST. Thank you to our clients, partners, staff, and most of all YOU the listener for giving us the opportunity to fill your days and nights with the best soundtrack to date.” In a comment, the station confirmed that K287FG was included in the transfer of KTXX-FM.
