Rogers Sports & Media brought the Variety Hits “Jack 92.3” brand back to CJET-FM Smiths Falls/Ottawa ON at midnight as its nearly two month run as “Santa Radio” came to an end.
Positioning as “Smiths Falls’ NEWISH Radio Station” and “Playing Whatever”, the flip resurrects the format and branding that was on the station from 2004 until 2020 when it flipped to Country. The Country format moved back to 101.1 CKBY-FM in October replacing “City News Ottawa” when Rogers shut down the format and 1310 CIWW Ottawa completely.
Original Report 11/2: Rogers Sports & Media has launched “Santa Radio” as a national streaming Christmas music brand across Canada.
The new brand is also being heard over the air on 92.3 CJET-FM Smiths Falls ON following last week’s moves that shuttered “City News 1310/101.1” CIWW Ottawa, while “Country 92.3” CKBY-FM moved to the 101.1 frequency. The “Santa Radio” brand will lead into a new format after the holidays.
Rogers VP/Head of Audio Paul Kaye shared on LinkedIn, “November 1 must mean it’s time, right? Santa Radio, Canada’s Christmas Music Station is live across the country. Listen at SantaRadioCanada.com, on smart speakers or on the #RadioPlayerCanada app. Happy holidays!”
