Steve Laukhuf and Jim Schwertner’s Cowboy Broadcasting Network have agreed to acquire Country 98.5 KRXT Rockdale TX from Charlie McGregor’s KRXT Inc. for $220,000.
The new operators will commence operations of the station on Sunday, September 1 via LMA with a relaunch of the station’s Country programming. KRXT covers areas of Central Texas in-between Austin and Bryan/College Station.
Laukhuf has been involved in radio for over 40 years with time in sales, on-air, station management, and ownership. He founded marketing agency One Voice Communications in 2006 and continues to serve as CEO. Schwertner is CEO of Schwertner Farms, Capitol Land & Livestock Trucks, Schwertner State Bank, Cattlemen’s State Bank, Lockhart Livestock Auction, and Taylor Livestock Auction.
