Woodward Community Media has cut ties with “95.9 Kiss-FM” WKSZ De Pere/Green Bay WI morning host Otis Day after a competing morning host filed a restraining order against him.
WLUK-TV reports that the firing came after it informed WKSZ that it was planning to air a story today about a restraining order filed by 101.1 WIXX morning co-host Natalie Jansen in March against Day and another woman for online harassment and bullying with Day, who previously worked at WIXX feeding information to the woman “to make critical posts of Jansen both professionally and personally” on Facebook. WLUK-TV said that while the Brown County Sheriff’s Office referred a felony stalking charge to be filed against Day, the district attorney decided not to file criminal charges.
Day joined WKSZ as morning host in November 2023 after a previous 24 year run at WIXX hosting nights and later middays until leaving in March 2022. Former WIXX morning co-hosts Katie Schurk & Nick Vitrano would join him at the conclusion of their non-competes. They will remain in mornings with current APD/afternoon host Eddie Ybarra joining them in the interim.
WKSZ posted this statement regarding Day’s exit.
