After stunting all weekend with hourly music block, Seven Mountains Media flipped the former Rock “The Point” 1450 WWKU/102.7 W274CD Plum Springs and 98.1 W251BT Glasgow/98.3 W252CV Bowling Green/105.3 WPTQ-HD2 Glasgow KY to Rhythmic Throwbacks “98 Jamz“.
Positioning as “Straight Throwbacks”, the station resurrects the format that had previously been heard in the market on “95.9 The Vibe” W240CP/106.3 WOVO-HD2 until Seven Mountains acquired the cluster last year. The station will carry Compass Media Networks’ DeDe In The Morning and Baka Boys in afternoons. R-Dub’s “Sunday Night Slow Jams” will move from sister CHR 107.1 WUHU and extend to weekdays from 10pm to 12am.
98 Jamz will also include a local midday show hosted by ‘Big Hamp’ from 10am to 3pm. Hamp was previously heard on W240CP and had continued operating that station’s brand online since its demise on-air. Other programming features will include a commercial free ““60 Minute Flex” in the 12pm hour and “The 2 Minute Promise” in timeslots with no syndication limiting commercial breaks to two minutes.

The now former iteration of the station had debuted in March 2025 when the Point brand replaced “98.3 The Edge” after Classic Rock “105.3 The Point” WPTQ relaunched as “105.3 The Goat“. The station featured Compass Media Networks’ “Free Beer and Hot Wings” in mornings, Davey in middays, Andy Morgan in afternoons, and Compass’ “Loudwire Nights with Chuck Armstrong” in evenings.
