Pearson Broadcasting of Northwest Arkansas is purchasing the license for CHR 93.7 KISR Fort Smith AR from Fred Baker’s Stereo 93 Inc. for $1.235 million. Baker’s Star 92 Co. will retain the KISR call letters, format, and intellectual property to be moved to one of their two other properties in the market which include Regional Mexican “La Raza 92.3” KREU Roland OK, Country “Outlaw 93.1” 950 KFSA/93.1 K226BS Fort Smith, and a few translators currently fed by KISR including “Rock 94.1” K231BS Fort Smith/KISR-HD2, Classic Rock “101.9 The River” K270BR Fort Smith/KISR-HD3 and Classic Country “105.5 The Rooster” K288GO Fort Smith/KISR-HD4.
Baker will retain access to program the HD subchannels of the station for an initial monthly fee of $150 per month each, but cannot program a Sports format on them. Pearson operates a network of Sports stations in Northwest Arkansas as “ESPN Arkansas” on 95.3 KERX Paris, 96.3 KTTG Mena, 99.5 KAKS Goshen/Fayetteville, and 104.3 KBCN-FM Marshall. E Radio Network is selling Silent 1320 KNCB/104.1 K281CY and 105.3 KNCB-FM Vivian AR to Jim Davenport’s Cass County Radio. The contract was omitted from the FCC filing. Cass County Radio also owns 900 KPYN/99.5 K238BF/103.9 K280GV Atlanta TX.
