FCC Actions
SDK Franco has agreed to a consent decree and a $50,000 fine to settle multiple violations at is 92.5 K223CW and 105.3 K287BQ Houston.
Among the violations the decree settles are both translators changing parent station or originating programming at various times, taking premature control of the licenses before FCC approval and violating foreign ownership rules during that time, utilizing unauthorized antennas, that also created interference to an LPFM, and failing to file STAs when off-the-air and operating at lower power at times. The Houston market has been a focus lately with Centro Cristiano de Vida Eterna’s 94.1 K231CN Houston was issued a notice of violation last month for originating programming and utilizing an incorrect antenna, while Nielsen acknowledged that Centro Cristiano de Vida Eterna was improperly attributing two other translators that were originating programming.
