After a nineteen year run at Audacy Phoenix, today will be Chris ‘Decipha’ Hernandez’ final day with the company.
Hernandez shared on social media, “This is a tough one, but tomorrow will be my last day with Audacy Radio. After nearly 19 years with the company.. and so many incredible years working directly with LIVE 101.5.. it’s time for me to turn over the keys. I’m grateful for the teams I’ve led, the people I’ve met, the artists we’ve supported, the events we’ve built, the concerts we’ve experienced, and all the cool shit we did along the way! But more than anything, I’m grateful for my wife and kids, who supported me through every early morning, late night, and crazy idea.”
Hernandez joined then Rhythmic CHR “101.5 Jamz” KZON as a host and mixer shortly after its launch in 2007 and added Imaging Director duties in 2010. Following the station’s 2013 shift to CHR and rebranding as “Live 101.5” KALV-FM, Hernandez would rise to APD/MD in January 2015 and Program Director in March 2018. In October 2020, he would be named Operations Manager for the Audacy Phoenix cluster adding oversight of Classic Hits “Big 94.5” KOOL-FM and Country 107.9 KMLE. Hernandez then rose to Regional Brand Manager in July 2023 adding programming duties for “Kiss 105.5” WKXJ Chattanooga TN.
