FCC Actions
The FCC has issues Orders to Pay or Show Cause to a pair of Texas licensees for unpaid regulatory fees. Luis Giraldo’s 94.7 KPZX Paducah TX owes $2,856.43 for unpaid fees from 2021 and 2022. Ernest Lopez’s 94.3 KXTM Benavides TX owes $1,849.58 from 2020 and 2021.
The commission is opening a comment period on its proposal to delete the currently vacant allocation on 105.5 in Selmer TN previously held by WXOQ until its cancellation in 2022. The FCC notes that the vacant allocation is short-spaced to 105.5 WVNA-FM Muscle Shoals AL by nine kilometers.
License Cancellations
Mississippi Broadcasters has surrendered the former “Fox Sports Meridian” 1450 WYHL/99.7 W259BP Meridian MS. WYHL had gone silent in December 2025 for financial reasons.
Missouri River Christian Broadasting’s 90.3 KGNN-FM Cuba MO was returned to the FCC after going silent last July following transmitter and antenna system failures.
