Former Audacy Buffalo and Rochester NY Market President Tim Wenger will exit the company at the end of the month ending a 40 year run with the cluster.
After starting his career at WBFO, Wenger joined 930 WBEN in 1986 as a traffic reporter and rose through the ranks to News Director, Program Director and in 2000 to Operations Manager of Sports 550 WGR, “1520 The Bet” WWKB, and WBEN and News/Talk Format Captain for the company. He would move to SVP/Market President for Buffalo in 2023 and add the same duties for Rochester the following year. He was offered the SVP/Sales position for both markets following Audacy’s elimination of the Market President position in April but is electing to pursue opportunities elsewhere.
Wenger told The Buffalo News, ““It’s been a marathon since the day (former WBEN news director) Jim McLaughlin convinced (former WBEN owner) Larry Levite to hire me back in 1986, and I’ve adapted and changed at all the mile markers along the way. The company restructuring allows me the opportunity to take a breather and consider what’s next.”
