FCC Actions
The FCC has set the timeline for the upcoming non-commercial translator filing window.
The window will take place from 12:01am Eastern on Tuesday, August 11 and run through 6:00pm on Tuesday, August 25 for new applications for translator signals in the reserved portion of the FM band 88.1 to 91.9. A filing freeze on modifications on changes for existing translators, LPFMs, and boosters on the those frequencies will commence at midnight on July 11 and run through the end of the filing window.
Only licensees of the stations which will be rebroadcast on the translators can apply for new translators and a limit of ten applications nationally can be filed with exceptions of a minimum of four for tribal licenses and two for LPFM licensees.
Encino Broadcasting has been issues an Order to Pay or Show Cause for unpaid regulatory fees at its three stations in the Austin area. The FCC notes that the company owes a combined $166,646.79 in fees for 2013 and 2015 through 2025 for Spanish Christian 1440 KELG Manor and Tejano simulcast 1560 KTXZ West Lake Hills and 1600 KOKE Pflugerville TX.
