She may currently be one of the biggest stars in pop radio, but it was Cal State University Northridge’s AAA “88.5 The SoCal Sound” KCSN Northridge/KSBR Mission Viejo CA that Olivia Rodrigo used during a Monday morning “station takeover” to announce a new all-women fronted music festival she will hold in Irvine, CA.
For one hour, Rodrigo played seventeen songs on the station, all of which featured artists that will be performing at her “Daisy Chain Fields” festival on August 29. At the end of the hour, she announced the festival and noted that everyone she played will be performing. The lineup will range from fellow current pop artists inlcuding Chappell Roan, Katseye, and Doechii to upcoming artists Not for Radio, Die Spitz, Quiet Light, and Eli, well known performers such as the Breeders, Garbage, and Santigold along with guest appearances from Stevie Nicks, Karen O, and Sarah McLachlan.
The hour long show can be heard on-demand at TheSoCalSound.org.
