Jessica Williams has exited as Brand Manager/afternoon host of Townsquare Media AC “Y105” KYBA Stewartville/Rochester MN and national afternoon tracker for most of the company’s AC stations.
Williams has been with KYBA since 2017 after previously holding marketing and fitness positions in Rochester and working in real estate in the Twin Cities. Among the stations Williams was also heard on were WHOM Portland ME, WOBM-FM Toms River NJ, WJLT Evansville IN, KDAT Cedar Rapids IA, and WLZW Utica NY.
Williams shared, “Today, I’m closing a chapter I never expected to write. And honestly? I didn’t know this chapter was going to become such a big part of my life. But somewhere along the way, I realized just how much I loved it.
Today, I was called into an unexpected meeting and told that I had just done my last show with Townsquare Media. There was no chance to say goodbye on the air. No final song. No last ridiculous conversation. No “see you tomorrow.” So, this is it. And if you’re shocked…trust me, so am I.
I’m moving one of my kids to college this week, so I’ll be honest — I’m still trying to process all of this while also figuring out what comes next. But there are a few things I know for sure. I am incredibly grateful for you.
Thank you for letting me hang out with you during your drive home, at work, while you were making dinner, running errands, drinking your coffee or just needing a little company. Thank you to everyone who stopped me in the grocery store, at an event, at a restaurant or somewhere completely random and said, “I listen to you!” Thank you for sharing your stories with me and trusting me with yours. And to the nonprofits and organizations I’ve had the privilege of helping — thank you for letting me use my voice to help make your voices a little louder. That has meant more to me than you probably realize.
I don’t know exactly what comes next. I wish I had a really clever answer for that. Right now, I have a kid going to college, a lot of emotions, and a whole lot of questions. But I also have an enormous amount of gratitude. Wherever you were listening — Rochester, Maine, New Jersey, or somewhere else entirely — thank you for letting me be a small part of your day. It’s been an unforgettable ride. And while this chapter is ending, I have a feeling the story isn’t finished yet. ❤️
(Psst…if you know of another opportunity out there that I might be a good fit for, I’d love to hear about it.)
