After just shy of one year in mornings at Audacy’s “Star 94” WSTR Smyrna/Atlanta GA, Kevin Avery and Taylor Scott have exited the station.
Avery and Scott joined WSTR last September after hosting mornings on Salem Media Group’s Christian AC “104.7 The Fish” WFSH-FM Atlanta from 2000 to until the sale of the station to K-Love in early 2025. They were also syndicated nationally on Salem’s “Today’s Christian Music” network.
The duo shared a statement, “To our K&T family: It is true that we are no longer with Star. A new manager is bringing a new vision for what he wants for the radio station, and we are not a part of his vision. It’s sad and unfortunate but it is part of the business and we understand. We are incredibly grateful to YOU and all of our K&T listeners that have followed us on our journey, and we are grateful for the opportunity at Star. Stay tuned and keep us in your prayers as we find our next home.”
The morning show change also follows JR Ammons adding programming oversight of WSTR following last month’s exit of Emily Boldon. Ammons previously worked at WSTR as APD/MD from 1995 to 2006 and Program Director from 2008 to 2011. He also currently oversees programming for KYKY and AC 102.5 KEZK St. Louis, Hot AC 99.7 KZPT and Country 106.5 WDAF-FM Kansas City, and Hot AC 96.5 KHMX Houston.
