Kemp Communications will flip Classic Hip Hop “106.9 The Bomb” KVGQ Overton NV to Conservative Talk on September 1, the same day that Audacy will shut down 840 KXNT North Las Vegas.
KVGQ will carry an all syndicated lineup including Premiere Networks’ Glenn Beck in mornings from 6-9am and Clay Travis and Buck Sexton from 9am to 12pm. Salem Media’s Hugh Hewitt will follow from 12-3pm. Westwood One’s Mark Levin from 3-6pm, Radio America’s Dana Loesch from 6-9pm, and Dr. Daliah Wachs will air from 9-10pm and overnights, and Red Apple Media’s “The Otherside of Midnight” hosted by Walter Sterling from 10pm to 2am. Beck, Levin, and Loesch move to KVGQ from KXNT. Travis and Sexton will also continue to air on Kemp’s other Conservative Talker in the market 670 KMZQ Las Vegas in the same timeslot.
The new format will compete with Audacy’s “101.5 K-Dawn” KMXB-HD3. KXNT registered a 1.9 share in the July 2026 Nielsen Audio ratings. KMXB-HD3 had a 0.8 share, while KMZQ had a 0.5 share.
KVGQ’s Classic Hip Hop format had a 0.9 share. Audacy’s similarly formatted “Q100.5” KXQQ was third in the market with a 5.4 share.
The 106.9 signal rimshots Las Vegas from northeast of the market. It has a booster near the fringe of the population in North Las Vegas but pointed away from the city.
