After being let go from afternoons at iHeartMedia Classic Hits “94.5 3WS” WWSW Pittsburgh in April, ending a 37 year run on air in the market, Mike Frazer has launched a series billboards across the area to thank listeners.

Frazer said, ““My parents taught me to always say please, bless you, and thank you. But on April 13, 2026, after 53 years in the business, and the past 37 here in Pittsburgh, my career on the radio abruptly ended, I was suddenly silenced. Thank you to my friends at Steel City Billboard for helping me to find a way to finally say Thank You’ to the Steel City!”

After beginning his career at WFBL and WOLF Syracuse, WMAR-FM Baltimore, and WCAU-FM Philadelphia, Frazer arrived in Pittsburgh when former WABC programmer Rick Sklar brought him to CHR “Energy 105” WNRJ in 1989. When that station reached its abrupt end the following year, Frazer would join WWSW where he would then remain for the next 36 years. During his tenure, he would become a local fixture at car shows, parades, and charity organizations like the Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hall & Museum, The Salvation Army, and the Pittsburgh Alzheimer’s Association. He is also the voice of national public television “My Music” specials since 1999.
