Update 1/25/08: The change is now complete. At 5:30am, 99X signed-off with Green Day’s “Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)” while relaunching as 99x.com. After simulcasting Q100’s “Bert Show” all week, the simulcast ended at 6:00am with 100.5 airing a loop of Beyonce singing “To The Left” and Bert Weiss letting listeners know that Q100 is now on 99.7. At 10:00, 100.5 began a stunt of eight possible formats for listeners to vote for. We expect the stunt to last at least through the weekend if not a little bit longer before the debut of Rock 100.5.
Original Entry 1/12/08: After more than 15 years as one of the most respected and influential Modern Rockers in the world, “99X” WNNX Atlanta will bid farewell next week. Sister CHR “Q100” will move from 100.5 to the much more powerful 99.7 frequency, while 99X will become a webcaster and HD2 subchannel.
Q100’s Bert Show will simulcast on both frequencies beginning on January 21, before a new format debuts on 100.5 the following Friday, January 25.
Q997Atlanta.com and AllTheHitsQ997.com were both registered on January 9 using DomainsByProxy.
