Larry Wilson, the former founder and CRO of Citadel Broadcasting who operates Alpha Broadcasting in Portland, has acquired Triad Broadcasting for $21 Million. Triad operates with different operational names in the markets it serves, such as Go Radio Fargo, JMP Radio in Peoria, and Adventure Radio in Bluefield and Savannah/Hilton Head
The company will be operated under the name L&L Radio, standing for “Live & Local”. The 32 stations involved in the deal serve five markets:
Biloxi MS – Sports “96.7 The Champ” WUJM, Rock 97.9 WCPR, Variety Hits “105.9 Bob-FM” WQBB, CHR “107.1 The Monkey” WXYK, and Sports simulcast “The Team” 1490 WXBD/1640 WTNI.
Bluefield WV – Classic Rock “Eagle 100.1/100.9” WKQY/WKOY, Adult CHR “J104.5” WHAJ, Country “Kicks Country 106.3/107.7” WHKX/WHQX, Classic Country “Rooster Country 1240” WKEZ, and News/Talk 1440 WHIS/1470 WTZE.
Fargo ND/Moorhead MN – Rock “Q98” 98.7 KQWB-FM, Country “Froggy 99.9” KVOX-FM, AC “FM 105.1” KLTA, Classic Rock “107.9 The Fox” KPFX, News/Talk 1450 KBMW, and Oldies “True Oldies 1660” KQWB.
