Two AM’s and a translator in Phoenix will debut new programming on Monday, April 1.
1TV.com’s “NewsTalk 1260 & 96.1” KBSZ Apache Junction/K241BQ Fort McDowell will drop its mix of syndicated and brokered Talk programming to simulcast sister Comedy “Funny 97.3” KIKO-FM Claypool. Both stations rimshot Phoenix from the eastern edge of the metro, but the addition of 1260/96.1 should improve its coverage in the suburbs of Mesa, Gilbert, and parts of Scottsdale.
Sandusky’s “The Fan 1060” KDUS Tempe will rebrand as “NBC Sports Radio AM 1060“. NBC Sports Radio will replace Yahoo! Sports Radio as the station’s primary affiliation. The new lineup will include the network’s Brian Kenny from 6-9am and “Under Center with Donovan McNabb and Mark Malone” from 12pm-3pm. “Sportszone With Bob Kemp” will slide up an hour to 9am-12pm, while “AZ Sports Talk with Rod and Manuch” remains in the 3-6pm timeslot.
