Curtis Media Group’s Eastern Airwaves has acquired a pair of translator CP’s in North Carolina. From Community Public Radio, Eastern Airwaves added 97.7 W249CN Fairfield, NC for $125,000. The 250 watt translator will put a city grade signal over Greensboro where it will be used to rebroadcast Curtis’ “Triad Sports” 1320 WCOG.
From Bible Broadcasting Network, Eastern Airwaves acquired 94.3 W232CI Fayetteville for $47,500. The 30 watt translator is currently licensed to rebroadcast Bible Broadcasting’s 91.1 WYBH Fayetteville.
Saga Communications has purchased 96.7 W244CZ Ithaca, NY from Calvary Chapel Of The Finger Lakes for $60,000. The 250 watt translator will rebroadcast an HD subchannel of 103.7 WQNY Ithaca.
Golden Corners Broadcasting’s 104.9 WCCP-FM Clemson, SC has applied to relocate to 105.5 with an upgrade from a Class A to C3. The new 20kW at 114 meter signal will enable the station to rimshot Greenville, SC. The move requires 105.7 WEKL Augusta to change its reference point and the pending CP of 105.3 WSGC-FM Tignall, GA to relocate to 96.7.
Alexandra Communications’ 93.7 KRKG-FM Pasco, WA has applied to relocate to 100.1. The station would upgrade from 450 watts at 361 meters to 880 watts at 262 meters. To make the move possible, the station requests a show cause order for 100.1 KQFM Hermiston, OR to move to 93.7.
Urban AC “980 The Touch” WRNE Gulf Breeze/Pensacola, FL has begun rebroadcasting on 106.9 W295AP Bay Minette, AL.
Amidst rumors of the company selling off stations, Family Radio has applied to convert eight of its stations to satellites of 610 KEAR San Francisco. The stations, 88.1 WEFR Erie, 88.1 WMWK Milwaukee, 88.9 WFRJ Johnstown PA, 88.9 WFRS Smithtown NY, 89.5 WOFR Schoolcraft MI, 90.3 WOTL Toldeo, 91.7 WYTN Youngstown OH, and 91.9 WJCH Joliet IL have also applied for waivers to the main studio requirement.
Family Radio’s 1280 KFRN Long Beach, CA is applying to multiplex on the tower of 1390 KLTX Long Beach. To do so the station will drop power from 1kW around the clock to 500 watts daytime and 400 watts at night while retaining its directional arrays.
