Cumulus Media has announced Program Director changes in four of its markets.
SVP/Programming Mike McVay said “These promotions and transfers underscore the quality of programmers within Cumulus. We congratulate Chris, Greg, Forrest, Ryan and Amber on their new positions and we welcome Steve to the family.”
Cumulus should replace the GM and PD of the Colorado Springs stations. For example KKFM 98.1 plays the worst classic rock songs and for some reason, they don’t realize it. KKMG Magic 98.9 on the other hand plays too many commercials, once they start they don’t stop. KVOR 740 is doing something right, they brought in Michael Savage, however they have a limited AM signal and at night it is undetectable in most areas. They also dropped Coast to Coast AM and replaced it with Red Eye Radio, which sucks. These stations could definitely benefit from a beefed up streaming server that could output a MP3 feed and of course better music and less commercials but I don’t want to get too excited.
Michael Savage and Red Eye Radio are both syndicated by Cumulus Media, which is why they’re heard on KVOR.
