Boise’s Bull Moves To 101.9

Lance Ventaby Lance Venta
February 12, 2015

101.9 The Bull KQBL La Poderosa 100.7 KPDA JLD Media Impact RadioKQBL and its “Bull” Country format will make its move from 100.7 to 101.9 at midnight tonight. After a few days of simulcasting on both frequencies, 100.7 will return to the KPDA call letters and Regional Mexican “La Poderosa” that was used from 2008 until the launch of the Bull in 2014 under new owners JLD Media.

The previous occupant of the 101.9 frequency, Regional Mexican “La Gran D” KDBI moved to 106.3 last month.

Original Report 1/6: Just before Christmas, Impact Radio Group announced the sale of 100.7 KQBL Mountain Home/Boise to JLD Media for $200,000. Now a second part of the deal has dropped.

With JLD Media closing on its acquisition of Regional Mexican “101.9 La Gran D” KDBI Emmett and Spanish CHR “Latino 106.3” KQTA Homedale from Adelante Media, JLD is now turning around and selling the 101.9 signal to Impact for $700,000, with $500,000 in the form of a loan to close the Adelante deal. No LMA is included in the deal, but the sale document indicates one will likely begin following the divestiture of 100.7 closes as that would allow Impact to begin operating 101.9 without going over the ownership limits.

At that time, Impact will relocate their Country “100.7 The Bull” KQBL to the stronger in-market 101.9 signal. That move will take place approximately in Mid-February and is already being promoted.
