Towers Investment Trust is selling Active Rock “103.7 The Eagle” KZGL Flagstaff, AZ to Rick Murphy’s Murphy Air LLC for $850,000. Murphy owns a cluster of stations serving the Laughlin, NV/Lake Havasu City, AZ, but this will be his entrance into Flagstaff. Towers Investment Trust purchased KZGL out of receivership in 2010 for $350,000.
Family Stations is selling Silent 1460 KARR Kirkland/Seattle to engineer James Dalke for $3000. KARR has been operating from a temporary tower site under an STA since its previous site was sold to become a housing development and did not renew its lease with the station.
Hawkeye Communications sells Country 1360 KLYR Clarksville, AR to Ozark Communications for $100. Both the buyer and seller are owned by husband and wife Jerry & Marilyn Dietz. KLYR currently simulcasts Ozark’s “True Country 92.7” Coal Hill, AR.
Red Desert Communications acquires the Construction Permit for 93.5 KREO James Town, WY from Vic Michael’s Kona Coast Radio for $10,000.
Earnest Hopseker’s Radio Beam LLC purchases the CP for 93.3 Gearhart/Astoria, OR from Resonance Communications for $35,000.
Icon Broadcasting, operated by former “93.1 The Wolf” WPAW Greensboro morning host Chuck Marsh, Mark Tarte, and Don Wendelken, purchases 99.3 WQDK Gatesville/Ahoskie, NC from Max Media for $100,000. Icon began operating WQDK on June 1 when it relaunched the station as “99.3 The Bull“.
Translator Sales
Pamal Broadcasting’s Johnson Road Licenses purchases the Construction Permit for 100.5 W263CG Colonie, NY from Galaxy Communications for $135,000. W263CG will rebroadcast Pamal’s Oldies “Magic 590” WROW Albany.
Saga Communications acquires 100.3 W262CO Asheville, NC from Georgia-Carolina Radiocasting for $125,000. The former 105.5 W288CR Cashiers has just received a CP to relocate into Asheville with 250 watts at 337 meters (Coverage Map) and will rebroadcast Saga’s 105.9 WTMT-HD2.
Maine Public Broadcasting buys 99.7 W259BY Waterville, ME from Salt Pond Community Broadcasting for $19,000. The buyer will utilize the translator to rebroadcast 91.3 WMEW Waterville.
The Cromwell Group sells 94.7 W234CE Effingham, IL to Kaskaskia Broadcasting for $25,000. The sale is contingent on the translator’s application and granting of a Mattoon Waiver to relocate to Shelbyville with 20 watts at 36 meters where it will rebroadcast Kaskaskia’s News/Talk 870 WTIM Assumption (Coverage Map).
Neal Ardman’s Radio Statesboro purchases 96.9 W245BW Statesboro, GA from Edgewater Broadcasting for $27,500. Concurrently the translator applies to relocate to 107.7 with 250 watts at 78 meters rebroadcasting the buyer’s News/Talk 1240 WWNS Statesville (Coverage Map).
