Commonwealth Broadcasting is pulling the plug on its two stations in Princeton, KY.
Classic Hits “104.9 The Wave” WAVJ and Sports “ESPN Radio 1580” WPKY Princeton will go dark on Friday, July 31. KFVS-TV reports that Operations Manager Caroline Garcia made the announcement this morning to the station’s staff and Commonwealth Vice President Dale Thornhill will be in town next week to discuss the matter with current station advertisers. WAVJ/WPKY broadcast Caldwell County High School sports as well as serving as the local affiliates for University of Kentucky sports and Tennessee Titans football.
