Original Report 12/11: A format change is imminent at Rincon Broadcasting’s Spanish Oldies “La Preciosa 94.5” KFYZ Santa Barbara, CA. Z945FM.com was registered by the company earlier this week pointing to the website for now defunct “Progressive Talk 1490” KIST. In Mid-September 1490 began simulcasting 94.5 as both stations change call signs. 1490 took on the KSPE calls that had been on 94.5, while 94.5 became KFYZ.
The logo depicted here appears in a few places on the website, calling the station “Z94.5 Santa Barbara’s Hit Music”. The market is one of the few right now without a Mainstream CHR. The station will place itself in competition with Cumulus Rhythmic CHR “103.3 The Vibe” and Modern AC KRUZ 97.5.
I Notice 94.5 Is playing A lot Christmas Songs Today
