The “Pulse” brand is utilized by New York station turned webcaster “Pulse 87” and “Pulse 96.7” KYLI Bunkerville/Las Vegas. Those stations are both jointly operated by veteran programmer Joel Salkowitz. No confirmation that he is involved with the Washington launch.

W249BE currently rebroadcasts Spanish AC “La Capital” 730 WTNT Alexandria along with 102.9 W275BO Chantilly, VA. That format was launched in December 2013.

I wonder which AM will feed this. “La Capital” is on 730 and feeding a translator on 102.9. Metro’s Regional Mexican “La Ley” is on 1460 and feeding 106.3. I’m not aware of any other Metro properties in the area. As an alternative to feeding from an AM, I suppose they could rent an HD2 from one of the larger operators.

There will be little to no signal overlap between 97.5 and 102.9 after 97.5 completes its move to Bethesda. This could very well be a replacement for La Capital on WTNT.

CBS still runs “Area 95.5” as an HD subchannel of WPGC; ironically, it uses some similar positioning, but with “Dance” instead of “EDM”.

And both Area 95.5 and the NY/Vegas Pulse’s share Albie Dee who programs 95.5 and voicetracks for the Pulses.
