With the July 4 holiday, its been a quiet start to the month on the translator front. Here’s the rundown of the big moves since our last report.
Maverick Media has acquired W262BR Beloit, WI from Edgewater Broadcasting for $45,000 and has begun the process of moving the station to Rockford, IL. The moves will bump the translator from 4 watts on 100.3 to 230 watts on 100.5 where it will move to the same tower as new sister Active Rock “104.9 The X” WXRX.
As we mentioned in the Independence Day Format Change Rundown, Clear Channel has begun programming EMF Broadcasting’s 103.1 K276EL San Marcos, TX. The translator which is now simulcasting Sports “1300 The Zone” KVET Austin has a newly acquired Construction Permit to move to Austin with 250 watts.
North of Boston, Costa-Eagle Radio Ventures has gained a CP to boost 102.9 W275BH Lawrence, MA from 97 watts to 250 watts. The station simulcasts Spanish CHR
“Power 800” WNNW.
Clear Channel has gained a Construction Permit to boost 97.7 W249BS Savannah, GA from 27 watts to 250 watts. The translator will rebroadcast News/Talk 1290 WTKS.
Up the road slightly in Hilton Head Island, SC, 104.3 W282AT will move to 93.5 with a jump from 82 watts to 250. The translator had been sold to Monterey Licenses in May where it will bring Soft AC “1130 The Island” WHHW to FM.
107.5 K298BK Sandia, NM, which duplicates 1600 KRKE Albuquerque as Oldies “Cool 107.5” has applied to increase its power from 20 watts to 99 watts.
Edgewater Broadcasting’s 105.1 W286BV Tuscaloosa, AL has signed-on rebroadcasting News/Talk 1230 WTBC.
