As the Cesar Chavez Foundation moves off of the non-commercial band in Phoenix following its three acquisitions in the market last year, the now former 88.3 KNAI-FM (operating under new KCCF-FM call letters) has begun stunting with a loop redirecting listeners to the new home of its Regional Mexican “La Campesina” network. The Cesar Chavez Foundation’s Farmworker Educational Radio Network is continuing its growth in Phoenix with the purchase of Southwest FM Broacasting’s Beautiful Music 102.1 KAHM and 101.7 K269EE Prescott and Southwest Broadcasting’s Talk 1490 KYCA/97.1 K246BI/103.5 K278CN Prescott AZ for $2.5 million through a new Phoenix Radio Broadcasting holding company. Phoenix Radio Broadcasting will pay $1.7 million for KAHM and K269EE and $800,000 for co-owned KYCA/K246BI/K278CN. Burkavage was the previous General Manager of Shamrock’s Reno cluster until retiring in 2015. He also spent a decade with Entercom as the Market Manager of its Scranton/Wilkes-Barre and Greenville/Spartanburg clusters. He is currently operating the station via LMA, while Shamrock retains its other three FMs in the Reno market. While K244EX will rebroadcast iHeartMedia’s 95.5 KWNR-HD3 Las Vegas, both will allow they buyer’s rimshot Regional Mexican “96.7 La Campesina” KYLI Bunkerville to expand its coverage in the market. KKFR Moves Simulcast To 96.1

After failing to accelerate the move of its east side simulcast of Rhythmic CHR “Power 98.3” KKFR Mayer/Phoenix AZ, Riviera Broadcasting completed the construction of 96.1 K241BQ Fort McDowell AZ from Phoenix’ South Mountain and has shut down 101.9 K270BZ Phoenix. Due to the existence of Sewanee Phoenix’ 96.1 K241CS Phoenix rebroadcasting Christian “1280 The Trumpet” on the west side of Phoenix, the move to 96.1 creates some coverage holes from the station. 96.1 K241BQ operates with a directional 120w vertical/426m as opposed to the 250w/426m that K270BZ was running. Riviera Broadcasting has promoted Mikey Fuentes to Vice President of Programming.
