Cox Media Group has announced that News/Talk 580 WDBO Orlando will begin simulcasting on 96.5 WHTQ on Friday, August 19 at 5:00am.
WHTQ had just shifted in February from Classic Rock to a broader Rock format as “96 Rock“. The station dropped to a 3 share in the July ratings. Among the shows out as part of the change is the syndicated Bubba The Love Sponge.
WDBO had recently added an FM translator on the western side of the Orlando market, but that wasn’t enough to keep Cox from needing a full-powered FM to rebroadcast WDBO.
