Ramar Communications is launching two new formats in Lubbock, TX.
97.7 K249DU Lubbock debuted on Friday, August 15 as “Oldies 97.7“. The 60s based station is being fed by 97.3 KLZK-HD3. The new format is designed to deflect some listeners away from Townsquare Media’s “98.1 Kool” KKCL to support Ramar Classic Hits “107.7 The Eagle” KLBB.
It will soon be joined by 96.9 K245BG Lubbock rebroadcasting KLZK-HD2. That translator will soon launch programming as “Rock 96.9“. That format will also be positioned against a Townsquare competitor; in this case “FMX 94.5” KFMX.
In addition to KLBB and the new translators, Ramar owns Tejano “Magic 93.7” KXTQ-FM, AC “97.3 Yes-FM” KLZK, Sports “Double T 104.3” KTTU, and Talk/Sports “AM 950/100.7 FM” KJTZ/K264AN. The company also owns the Fox, My Network TV, CW, MeTV, and Telemundo affiliates in the market.
