Update 12/28: KKSP made the move to Talk yesterday as it debuted its new identity of “Fresh Talk 93.3”
Update 12/24: KKSP has announced to its audience it will be flipping to News/Talk next week and has begun unveiling parts of its new lineup.
Neal Gladner, formerly of 102.9 KARN-FM will anchor a local morning show from 6 to 8am. He will be followed by Laura Ingraham from 8 to 11am. Clark Howard will air in the evening and Coast to Coast overnight. The Facebook page for the new format has gone live as well.
Original Report 12/18: Little Rock will soon have little less Rock as a change appears imminent at Crain Media’s “Big Rock 93.3” KKSP.
The station, mired near the bottom of the market with a 0.8 share looks to be on its way to a Talk format. Crain Media owner Larry Crain registered FreshTalk933.com on December 12. Blank Facebook and Twitter accounts have popped up for the new moniker.
93.3, with a rimshot signal that is weak on the eastern side of the Little Rock market may be suited to improve that by switching from stereo to mono with a Talk format. Big Rock currently features an Active Rock format positioned in between Clear Channel’s “100.3 The Edge” KDJE and Signal Media’s Classic Rock “94.1 The Point” KKPT.
Crain Media also operates CHR “K-Hits 96.5” KHTE and AC “106.3 The River” KOLL in the Little Rock market.
