In addition to your regularly occurring Translator Reports, which we will now be adding reports on other station relocation applications and permits.
Queen Cities Broadcasting’s “La Mega 97.7” WOXY Mason, OH has lost the availability of its current tower location and has been granted a CP to relocate to a tower in Middletown, OH where it will operate with 2.7kW at 151.5 meters. From the new location the station will lose some coverage in the Cincinnati suburbs but gain additional coverage into Dayton.
Clear Channel Alternative “X106.7” WCGX Dublin/Columbus, OH has applied to downgrade from a Class B1 to A while moving its tower location into Columbus proper. It will downgrade from 7.3kW at 180m to 3kW at 144m but will improve its coverage in Columbus proper and its southern suburbs.
Sunburst Media’s 107.5 KXMG Jean Lafitte, LA has been operating with a temporary facility since it completed its move-in last year from Houma. Now it has been granted a CP to restore itself from a C2 to C1. The station will operate with 98kW at 299 meters.
A pair of stations in the Macon, GA market have applied for changes. Cumulus AC “Z93.7” WPEZ Jeffersonville will downgrade from a C3 operating with 100kW to a C2 with just 6kW from the same tower location. Cumulus has requested that the table of allotments not be adjusted until the station has received approval for the move. The biggest beneficiary from the downgrade could be sister company Dickey Broadcasting’s 93.7 W229AG Atlanta, which simulcasts Sports “680 The Fan” WCNN. WPEZ and the translator currently mutually interfere with each other.
Clear Channel Rock “Q106.3” WQBZ Fort Valley will slide slightly south to the tower of sister 97.9 WIBB-FM where the station will operate with 50kW at 139 meters.
