WFAN/CBS Sports Radio Adds Legal Analyst

Lance Ventaby Lance Venta
August 15, 2017

660 101.9 WFAN WFAN-FM New York CBS Sports RadioCBS Sports Radio and 660/101.9 WFAN New York has added Amy Dash as a legal analyst.

Dash has previously worked for WCBS-TV and currently is an anchor for Law Newz Network and a correspondent for the syndicated “Crime Watch Daily with Chris Hansen”, while contributing to multiple blogs. She will guest on WFAN and CBS Sports Radio network programming to discuss legal issues pertaining to sports.

Emmy Award-winning Legal Correspondent Amy Dash will begin contributing to CBS Sports Radio and WFAN Sports Radio 101.9 FM and Sports Radio 66AM as a legal analyst. Amy will be a featured guest across the popular shows on CBS Sports Radio as well as The Fan to offer her expert legal opinion and analysis of news stories at the intersection of sports and the law. CBS Sports Radio and WFAN-FM/AM (New York) are dedicated sports properties of CBS RADIO.

“I am thrilled to contribute to CBS Sports Radio and WFAN, working alongside the station’s top-notch talent, producers and management,” said Dash. “I am especially looking forward to bringing legal straight talk to passionate sports fans. A high profile case can sideline an all-star on championship day or incite a national dialogue about patriotism and civil rights. The law is its own sport and fans who understand it can help shape the future of the game. I hope audiences will join me in debating the biggest cases in sports!”

“Now more than ever it’s the right time to add a legal analyst to keep CBS Sports Radio listeners informed of the latest legal issues affecting the teams and players we report on, follow and celebrate,” added Eric Spitz, Director of Programming, CBS Sports Radio. “Amy will offer her keen insight and commentary on everything from breaking legal news involving professional and college athletes to fantasy sports. We’re excited for her to provide this additional level of coverage.”

“Complementing her legal and journalistic backgrounds, Amy has a deep history of covering New York stories which will make her a welcome voice on The Fan,” commented Mark Chernoff, Vice President of Programming, CBS RADIO New York and PD of WFAN/FM-AM. “Her legal coverage of the sports played right in our backyard will be a great conversation starter for our listeners and hosts.”

Amy is presently an anchor for the Law Newz Network and a Special Legal Correspondent for nationally syndicated daytime crime show “Crime Watch Daily with Chris Hansen.” On the show, she provides expert legal analysis and is also a traveling correspondent, covering some of America’s most perplexing cases, in-depth. In addition, Amy appears live across multiple platforms as a legal commentator. Her enthusiastic analysis is broadcast on national television and radio programs, podcasts and digital publications. She is also a contributing writer for SBNation, Bleacher Report and the Huffington Post Blog.

Amy was formerly a reporter for CBS NY where her original reporting was used on the “CBS Evening News” and inspired an episode of “48 Hours.” She won Emmy Awards for coverage of the 2013 MetroNorth Train Derailment and Hurricane Sandy. While at WCBS, she was a go-to for hard-to-get interviews, bringing dozens of exclusives to the station in less than two years. Her reporting earned two Emmy Awards and six Emmy nominations, including a national nomination. She also broke news on several national stories.

Amy is considered the go-to legal expert for producers at CBS Sports. Last year she dissected the biggest national stories, including “Deflategate,” Hulk Hogan v. Gawker, Erin Andrews’ stalker trial and Aaron Hernandez’s murder trial, among others.

Amy’s standout sports coverage led to her appointment as legal correspondent for Mark Cuban’s AXS-TV program “Inside MMA,” where she became the first television legal correspondent to cover Mixed Martial Arts cases, including the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s legal brawl to bring live MMA to New York. Just two months later, Combat Press mentioned her as one of the Biggest Difference Makers in MMA.

Amy is an attorney certified in conflict resolution. She graduated from Boston University and loves playing sports, especially basketball.

With all the legal trouble numerous current and former professional athletes get into this day, WFAN-660/101.9 probably had to hire Ms. Dash!
