IHeartMedia Corpus Christi/Rio Grande Valley Market President John Richards is returning to programming to oversee Country 99.1 WQIK Jacksonville as well as having some responsibilities at 92.5 WPAP Panama City and 94.9 WTNT-FM Tallahassee FL.
Richards previously programmed Country 107.3 WROO Jacksonville (as well as morning host under the name ‘Catfish’) in the mid-90s for Paxson Communications before beginning his move up the management ladder. He also programmed in Albuquerque and served as Market President for iHeartMedia in Albany GA.
He fills the opening created by Cindy Spicer’s move to WFUS Tampa earlier this year.
iHeartMedia announced today that John Richards has been named Country Program Director for WQIK Jacksonville FL, with additional programming responsibilities in Tallahassee FL at WTNT, and WPAP Panama City Beach FL.

iHeartMedia has the leading consumer reach and influence across multiple platforms and delivers more live programming than any other media company. As Program Director, John will be responsible The Day to Day Duties for WQIK. John will report to Geewiz, SVPP for iHeartMedia Jacksonville.

John Richards joins the North Florida Markets from Corpus Christi TX and Harlingen-Brownsville-McAllen TX Markets, where he most recently served as the IHM Market President. Prior to that he was Market President for IHM in Albany GA, and had Programming stints in Albuquerque NM and Jacksonville FL.
